Div#2 Front

This is the second mural I started to work on. I think it looks great. Once you enter the commons your feel like there is someone actually on the wall. Click on any image so see it larger.

I do the majority of the outlines while everyone is away from the Commons. Once people start eating that is when I start painting. I enjoy everyone who watches and talk about how the wall is coming along. It makes me more proud of my work.

I feel like the mural is done and looks really good like this. I am trying to keep things simple and not have it be as busy as when we did The Space Murals. Who knows??? I think I will add some simple designs for the background on the bottom.

Div#1 Back

Here are some images from the back of the first Divider in the Commons. This was all done today. It is still not done but I will add a flower pattern to Blek’s dancers and water to the fountain. Enjoy. Click on any image to see it larger.

The left side is a tribute wall of Blek Le Rat. I was lucky to mee him in Paris and he is the pioneer of the stencil art movement. I have learned a lot from his work.

Progress on Div#1

This is the progress on the first of the murals. Things have come together really fast and I think they look really good. We are filming the whole process to make a video in high speed. It should look great.

The Commons

We began the commons murals. They are going to look pretty good. I am pretty happy with how they look like so far. Here is a video of us painting:

Asbury

Here is an image of a small piece I did right at the begining of school. JJ put all of the pieces of construction paper on the wall and I placed my set of 4 stenciled women from the 1950s-1960s. It is in Asbury as soon as you come in through the front door. Check it out.

MRC

Here is some new worrk that not many people will see. I work for the MRC aka Media Resource Center. The people who work there are incredible and they have done a lot for me. The first two images are from a showcase which has old media equipment. The last two pictures are from Shawn’s office. He wanted something on his wall other than posters and we came up with that idea.
You can see all of the old equipment. I used a lot of marker and chalk designs but the chalk designs are not picked up well with a camera. Overall it looks a lot nicer than it did before.

For this project I did most of the images using a projector and black markers to do the actual scenes. Later I taped off the sections so it would look like a filmstrip. The movie scenes are go in this order: Animal House, The Godfather, Casablanca, Pulp Fiction, Caddyshack, Goodfellas, Citizen Kane, and Reservoir Dogs. There are sections that need to be finished and cleaned up but that will be in the next couple of days.

Sometimes I look at this wall and come up with new ideas for designs or new colors to choose.

The Commons –Proposed designs

Here are some of my sketches and designs for the mural we will be painting in The Commons. The project was proposed to me by Drew. I was just sitting at a meeting and someone was like we are going to commision you to paint these dividers in the dining room of the school. Later it was written in the school paper and it was official. I will be keeping you updated on the progress of the wall as much as a I can. Should take about three weeks.
This piece will be a tribute to Ble Le Rat who I met in Paris. He is one of the pioneers in stencil art and is an amazing stencil artist. Google his name.

This last piece is a picture I took in China(Harbin) and hope to turn into a stencil. You will see how it turns out.

These two pieces were done with markers on wood. The stencils were freehanded from older stencils.
I worked on this during the past summer. My mom wanted something pretty in our backyard. She really likes it.


These past three designs are for a t-shirt company I hope to be working with.
