January 9th Show &Tell Gallery “Word Up?” Group Show Feat. PaperMonster

“Word Up?” Show & Tell Gallery’s Group Show featuring artists PaperMonster, Ghost, Dixon, Omen, Skam, and Case opens Friday Jan 9th in collaboration with LE Gallery. The group show starts off 2009 in a great way showcasing new works from each artist. PaperMonster’s new work has grown larger with bolder textures and detail. Each piece explores the harmony between chaos and beauty with titles such as “True Identity” “The Beast Within” and “If He Only Knew” that dive into the secrets and hidden mysteries within women. Negative space and shadows heighten the degree of the unknown. Each stencil art piece allows the audience to interact and actively digest the stories contained in each painting making for a powerful visual experience.

The Show & Tell Gallery Group Show is only a couple weeks away and I wanted to share some sneak previews of some of the pieces that will be in the show. These new stencil art pieces will focus on this relationship that I have been exploring between chaos and beauty where the strong meets the most delicate. I will be posting more images and some complete shots in the next couple of days. One of the things that I am really excited about is a new camera which is coming this holiday!! Upcoming Events: 2009 shows feat PaperMonster

As 2008 is ending PaperMonster is getting ready to start off 2009 with a BANG!! PaperMonster will have several shows including: Show and Tell Gallery Group Show (Canada, January), Your Kid Can’t Do This: Stencil Group Show (Australia, Feb), and T & P Fine Art Gallery: “Cut Copy – A Stencil Show” (Philadephia, Feb). I will be posting a ton of progress shots and some new exciting stencil art pieces that I am working on. 2009 will be packed with new works which will be larger, more detail, bolder colors, and greater texture. Check out some images below and catch the sneak preview of a new PaperMonster (Vengeance Clothing) design which will be released later on this week on Wednesday.
